Southwire

Southwire began with one goal, that objective was to provide light. Roy Richards the founder of Southwire wanted to provide his grandmother with a light in her house; so in 1937 he began to erect power poles to prepare for the cable. The only problem was the cable never showed, so Roy took it upon himself to build his own wire and in 1950 Southwire was founded with the use of three machines and 12 employees. Southwire became successful in producing a continuous casting system for making wire rod that propelled Southwire into the company it is now. Today Southwire offers a complete line of cable industrial products. From cable pullers capable of 10,000 lbs to unique multimeters and testers, Southwire has the right equipment for any cabling application. Southwire provides turnkey solutions for a variety of cabling applications including conduit bending, cable pulling, and a variety of hand tools that can be used for testing continuity. Southwire goes beyond just selling cable, as they believe in people. So much so that Southwire has their very own school called 12 for life a program that provides students the opportunity to earn money while also being able to attend classes under one roof. Southwire equipment provides not only exceptional cabling solutions but also hope and new beginnings for the youth.
